This area is a wonderful natural bird sighting area and The Bird Sanctuary in Port Aransas and the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge are great. (20 miles north of Rockport on FM2040 off Hwy. 35)

 

For tree and plant lovers…visit the Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens and the Big Tree (thought to be over 300 years old, it is one of the largest live Oaks.) North on Hwy 35 to Park Road 13 and follow the signs.

 

Port Aransas is fortunate to have a great Art Center….its open daily, art workshops are available and the free trolley service will take you to its downtown location.

 

Horse back riding on the beach is always fun and the Mustang Riding Stable is just a few miles south of Gulf Waters on Hwy. 361.
